Synopsis

As the Great War breaks out in 1914, the Morland family joins a nation swept up in patriotic fervor and the promise of a quick victory. Young men eagerly enlist for the front lines while those at home dedicate themselves to the cause, certain the conflict will end by Christmas. However, the brutal reality of the trenches soon shatters these illusions as the family faces the devastating cost of the march to Mons.
