Synopsis

Following Richard III's defeat at the Battle of Bosworth, Elizabeth of York must marry the new king, Henry Tudor, to help end the Wars of the Roses. As queen, she must balance her loyalty to her own Yorkist family against her husband's rule, while a kingdom still riven by old loyalties looks for reasons to doubt the new Tudor throne.

Philippa Gregory was born on 9 January 1954 in Nairobi, Kenya, the second daughter of Elaine (Wedd) and Arthur Percy Gregory, a radio operator and navigator for East African Airways.
