The first crime novel I ever read, and I am glad that I started with this one. The story is genuinely gripping, and the inevitable dread that I felt at some points was truly horrifying. The idea of using multiple POVs was a great choice and added an extra layer of complexity that a story of this kind would need. I cannot wait to see the show coming out next month!

The Whisper Man by Alex North is possibly the best crime novel I have ever read! I read it within 24 hours as I could not put it down!

The Whisper Man is story of a father and his son relocating after the death of his wife. Featherbank where they’re relocating to has a history though, a history about “The Whisper Man” who kidnapped and murdered five young boys. This hasn’t been an issue for the last twenty years after TWM was caught but just before Tom and his son Jake move there, another little boy had gone missing and Tom notices Jake acting very strange.

Although this was a crime book, it also focused a lot on grief, family and finding a family dynamic when the glue that held them all together is no longer there.

I recommend if you’re a baby like me, don’t read it at night. I slept with the light on during the first half!
