Synopsis
Some people stay all summer on the idyllic island of Belle Isle, North Carolina, and others come only for the weekends. The friction between the regulars and the weekenders is part of the island's charm, until it isn't.
Riley Griggs is expecting a season of good times with friends and family when a process server pushes papers into her hand on the ferry dock. Her husband, whom she was waiting for, is nowhere to be found. Turning to her island circle for help, she discovers that every one of them is keeping secrets of their own.
Mary Kay Andrews mixes cocktail-party comedy with a genuine mystery: Riley has to investigate Belle Isle, the husband she may never have really known, and a summer that will change everything.
