Synopsis

The Vincent Boys is a young-adult contemporary romance by Abbi Glines, first published in 2011 and the opening book of the Vincent Boys series. Ashton Gray has spent three years as the ideal girlfriend to Sawyer Vincent, the golden boy every small Southern town expects a preacher's daughter to end up with. When Sawyer leaves for the summer, Ashton is thrown back together with his cousin Beau: the town's bad-boy Vincent, and the boy she grew up with before Sawyer.

Beau has loved Ashton for years and always considered her off-limits as his cousin's girlfriend. Left alone together over the summer, old friendship curdles into an attraction neither of them can pretend away, and the two spend the book caught between loyalty to Sawyer and a pull they can't shake. The novel is told from Ashton's point of view and set against a small-town Southern backdrop of family, reputation and expectation.

Glines originally self-published The Vincent Boys before it was reissued by Simon Pulse; an "Extended and Uncut" edition restores content trimmed for the YA release, which is why the book is often shelved as both young-adult and new-adult romance.
