The Undying Man

The Undying Man
Synopsis
The Phantom War has ended, but the Thiaran Empire has not settled. An imprisoned fire god has started invading the bodies of Thiara's citizens, one at a time, while the empress closes her fist around whatever is left of the realm.
Grei — the Whisper Prince now — has magic that no longer answers reliably. The only person standing with him is Ree, a Ringblade assassin who has lost an arm and most of her certainty, and who was originally sent by her order's leader Selicia to manipulate him. Together they have to get clear of the empress and travel north to contain the fire god before it spreads any further.
Underneath the chase is a conflict centuries old that Grei has to unpick, and a question centred on Blevins: an enigmatic drunk who, whatever anyone does to him, will not die.
