The Sunrise

In the summer of 1972, the resort city of Famagusta, Cyprus, is thriving. Two neighboring families, the Greek Cypriot Georgious and the Turkish Cypriot Özkans, have moved there to escape years of ethnic violence. But when a Greek coup plunges the island into chaos and a Turkish invasion follows, the city is shelled and its population flees. In the suddenly deserted resort, only these two families remain, forced to survive together.
