First of all: VEK!!!
I struggled a bit at first because I forgot a lot from the first book (I read it last year, but my memory is trash), but once the loose ends were tied in my brain, it was an amazing read!
The first part eased me in, building two more worlds, each with its own mythology (Egyptian and Celtic, added to the Roman inspiration) as for the second part of the book, the events kept coming and didn't stop!
It was exhilarating, once the rythm picked up, and all the details were laid down, I couldn't stop reading.
The characters are as complex as ever, the plot revolves around political machinations, friendships, choices, and so many other themes.
The ending chapters were dizzying, and even if a lot of pieces from the puzzle were put together, the ending left me with internal screaming and more questions than answers!! I don't know how I'm gonna wait for at least two more years for the last book.
