The Story of a Brief Marriage

As the Sri Lankan Civil War reaches its violent climax, a young Tamil man and woman are forced into a hasty marriage to escape the encroaching army. The novel follows their single night together, juxtaposed against the escalating violence outside their door, and the lives they led before the war brought them together.
