Synopsis

When Mary Jekyll and the Athena Club return to London, they discover their friend Alice and employer Sherlock Holmes have been kidnapped. The search reveals a conspiracy that goes far beyond a simple abduction, threatening Queen Victoria and the entire British Empire. In the final installment of the series, the club must band together to save their friends and foil a plot against the crown.

Theodora Goss is a Hungarian-American writer of fantasy fiction and poetry who draws heavily on folklore and fairy tales. Born in Budapest in 1968, she holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a Ph.D. in English from Boston University. Her Extraordinary Adventures of the Athena Club series began with The Strange Case of the Alchemist's Daughter, and her short fiction has been a finalist for the Hugo, Nebula, and World Fantasy Awards.
