Synopsis

Twenty years after the fall of the god-like Augurs, those born with magical abilities are forced into strict servitude. Davian is a failing student of the Gifted who discovers he can wield the very powers that were supposedly wiped out. As an ancient threat wakes in the north, Davian must flee his school to uncover the truth of his heritage and a war that never truly ended.

James Islington is an Australian fantasy author, best known for The Licanius Trilogy (The Shadow of What Was Lost, An Echo of Things to Come, The Light of All That Falls) and the Hierarchy series (The Will of the Many, The Strength of the Few), as well as the standalone novel Scion. He previously ran a tech startup before turning to writing full-time in his early thirties. He lives on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia, with his wife and two children.
