“Who makes good decisions when they’re in love"

Reading this book, I lived through the thickness of a midsummer’s heat. The buzziness, the bugs. The cold, breezy nights. Rain. And storms. PEARS. I was hooked on the way it was written and to know that this is a debut novel! I was enthralled. The book told the story of what it meant to be deprived, the prickliness of that deprivation. The gutwrenching aftermath of becoming aware of it. I enjoyed the way Isabel’s character has unraveled in that regard. I found it gripping and intense. Never devoured a book in that manner in a while. I guess I’m back on the track now.

The pear is the new peach!
I went in blind with this book, and I didn't expect to read what I read. The complexity of the characters, with a seemingly simple plot that was turned upside down with the final twist.
This is one of those rare stories, that seem very small, but hold so much in terms of emotions, you can't guess where's it's going, and from time to time, a sentence stirs something so deep inside the soul.
