Synopsis

"The Reunion Dinner" is a short mystery by USA Today bestselling author Jesse Q. Sutanto, the second entry in her Busybodies Collection of quirky amateur-sleuth mysteries. Family matriarch Josephine Ying is determined to finally out-host her rival, Big Uncle, at this year's Chinese New Year reunion dinner — until her son's surprise guest, a fiancée the family suspects of being a gold-digger, dies at the table mid-celebration.

Convinced the killer is still in the room, Josephine turns her hosting instincts toward interrogating her own relatives, working through motives and alibis over the remains of the feast. Published by Amazon Original Stories in October 2024, the story is a short, self-contained read that can be finished in a single sitting.
