Wow, I hate Margaret Tudor. She strikes me, according to Gregory’s portrayal, as somehow spoiled, self-righteous, and rather unfeeling towards others. She thinks only of herself, and is one of those people who practices religion so publicly in hopes of being seen as greater because of it.
But, Philippa Gregory brought her to life so well that I couldn’t help but absolutely hate her and still want to see how the story ended. While disliking the character, I was invested in her life. This, I believe, speaks to Gregory’s skill as a writer.
Not to mention I just love Gregory’s work.
