Synopsis
Emma Bannon, Sorceress Prime in the service of Queen Victrix, is given a mission: find the doctor who has created a powerful new weapon. Her friend, the mentath Archibald Clare, is only too glad to help — it distracts him from pursuing his nemesis, and Miss Bannon's hospitality suits a man no longer as young as he once was.
Their quarry proves to be a fanatic, and his poisonous discovery is as dangerous to Britannia as to her enemies. A single man sets Londinium ablaze, and Clare finds himself racing against time and theory to find a cure while Miss Bannon contends with troubles of her own: the Queen's Consort Alberich is ill, and Her Majesty is unhappy with Bannon's loyal service.
The Red Plague Affair is the second book in Lilith Saintcrow's Bannon & Clare series, following The Iron Wyrm Affair and preceding The Ripper Affair.
