Synopsis
In 1483 Milan, Leonardo da Vinci is tasked by Duke Ludovico Sforza to stage a living chess game. The spectacle turns deadly when one of the 'pieces,' the Duke's ambassador, is murdered. As an outsider, Leonardo is the only one Sforza trusts to investigate the brutal court politics. With his keen eye and the help of his young apprentice, Leonardo uncovers a nest of secrets and rising danger, leading to a surprising revelation about his most trusted assistant.
