Synopsis

A young boy named Stanley is fascinated by puddles and the mysterious Puddleman who seems to control them. When his grandfather passes away, Stanley finds comfort and understanding in the Puddleman's world, learning about life's cycles and the enduring presence of those we love.

Raymond Briggs was born in Wimbledon, Surrey, to parents Ernest Redvers Briggs (1900–1971), a milkman, and Ethel Bowyer (1895–1971), a former lady's maid-turned-housewife, who married in 1930.
