The Price of Power

Rose Estes continues the story of Mika, shaman of the Wolf Nomads, in this fourth novel of the Greyhawk Adventures series. Bound by a curse laid on him by the demon Maelfesh after the events of Master Wolf, Mika must return the beautiful Princess Julia — transformed into a wolf by dark magic — to her father, the imprisoned king of the island realm of Dramidja. Accompanied by his wolf companion Tam-Tam and his fellow Wolf Nomad Hornsbuck (with Hornsbuck's sweetheart Lotus Blossom in tow), Mika finds that fulfilling the curse's terms may demand more of him than he is willing to give. First published by TSR in 1987, The Price of Power is the second book of Estes's Mika trilogy, sitting between Master Wolf and The Demon Hand in the Greyhawk Adventures line set in Gary Gygax's World of Greyhawk.
