Synopsis

Planetary follows a three-person team of "archaeologists of the impossible" as they investigate the buried wonders of the twentieth century: a Godzilla-sized corpse on a hidden island, a Chinese ghost cop, a World War II supercomputer built to access parallel worlds. Warren Ellis structures the series as a loving, subversive tour through pulp and superhero history, with John Cassaday's widescreen art giving each era its own visual voice.

Underneath the case-of-the-month structure runs a longer conspiracy: a rival organization, the Four, has been suppressing exactly the kind of wonders Planetary exists to document, and Elijah Snow's own forgotten past turns out to be tangled up in why.
