Synopsis

In October 1886, British officer Edgar Drake is dispatched from London to a remote outpost in Burma on an assignment that seems trivial: repair a rare Erard grand piano belonging to Surgeon-Major Anthony Carroll. What begins as a simple technical task spirals into a web of opium smuggling, political intrigue, and espionage at the heart of the British Raj's expansionist ambitions. As Drake uncovers layers of deception surrounding his employer and the mission itself, he is forced to confront choices that will determine whether he survives the conspiracy closing in on him.
