Synopsis

Book two of the London Highwaymen, picking up right where The Queer Principles of Kit Webb left off. Marian Hayes, Duchess of Clare, has just shot her monstrous husband and fled into the night. Rob Brooks—highwayman, con artist, cheerful scoundrel, and secretly the true heir to the Duke of Clare—has spent months blackmailing her, and never meant to fall for the woman who left him tied up in a seedy inn and then turned up covered in her husband's blood, desperate for his help. As the two flee across Georgian England picking pockets and trading barbed letters, blackmail curdles into something dangerously like love. A witty, warm queer historical romance.
