Synopsis

David is a young boy growing up in a small Southern town in the 1940s. From his porch, he observes the world, including the glowing neon Bible that symbolizes the judgmental, God-fearing community. His family faces ostracism because his father cannot afford church dues, forcing David to navigate a world filled with prejudice and hardship.
