Synopsis

The Mother Next Door follows three mothers, Fiona, Alison and Jasmine, whose children are picked up from school by Lou, a neighbor they trust completely. When a storm rolls in and the children never come home, Lou sends a message: confess the truth the three women have been hiding since their own pasts collided, or never see their children again.

Told across multiple points of view, including chapters from one of the captive children, the novel unspools the mothers' shared secret alongside the unfolding search, building toward the reveal of what Lou actually wants and why she chose these three families. Short, timed chapters and an unreliable cast keep the tension high as the storm closes in on the search.

A fast-paced domestic thriller for readers of psychological suspense built around motherhood, buried guilt and the lengths a parent will go to protect a child.
