The Monster We Made

Synopsis

Harper got out of a relationship that had been hurting her for years, and what she has now looks like the opposite of it. Jamie is kind, patient, funny, the sort of person who makes her wonder why she put up with the last one for so long.

Then she starts noticing someone behind her. Not often enough to report, and not clearly enough to describe, but often enough that she stops thinking it is coincidence. She is fairly certain she knows who it is, and fairly certain what he intends to do about the fact that she is happy.

Shade Owens writes this one close to Harper, whose read on her own situation is shaped by what she has already survived, and who is trying to decide how much to tell a man who currently thinks she is uncomplicated.
