Synopsis

Sasha Cruz built a life around control after a stalker forced her into hiding. She keeps that control even on a flight to Paris for work. In the seat beside her, a stranger draws her into hours of conversation and an ease she has not felt in years. They land, and neither has the other's name or number.

Sasha convinces herself she has to find him. Scrambling to track him down, she accidentally emails her whole company asking for help locating the man from Seat F. Nothing comes of it, so she hires Wesley Dane. He worked her stalking case years ago and has since quit the business to run a barbecue food truck.

Wes wants nothing to do with the search. Sasha turns out to be the one client he cannot refuse twice. The book moves between Brooklyn and Paris as the search for a stranger turns into a reckoning between two people who already know each other too well. Williams mixes banter and heat with the weight of what Sasha survived.

Readers who want two wounded people slowly circling back into the same room, with a hunt for a mystery man as the excuse, will find that here. A few plot turns near the end feel like a stretch, but the pairing at its center is the reason to stay.
