Synopsis

Charlotte Amelia Etheridge — Lottie — has endured her mother's sharp tongue and endless demands for the last time. In one reckless moment of rebellion, she asks a stranger from the Leeward Islands to dance, and the fallout lands her in a compromising position that ends with a forced marriage. Lottie leaves the only home she's known to start a new life on the isle of St. Kitts.

Nathaniel Winthrop has troubles of his own: a dwindling sugar crop, rumors that he's cursed, and a new shipping company he's risking everything to build. A wife — especially one with a reputation for a weak constitution — is the last complication he needs. But as Lottie and Nathaniel adjust to a marriage neither chose, they find something neither expected. Book two of The Leeward Islands.
