Synopsis

Dead. Freaking. Bodies. When a mercenary and a mortician meet, murder plans fade to black for this match made in twisted heaven.

Callum Walker is a contract killer, but the hits he executes in his spare time are reserved for child abusers, a mission fueled by his traumatic past. After a misunderstanding leads Callum to believe funeral director Ryan Fairview is responsible for hurting one of the neighborhood children, he finds his next target.

Funeral director Ryan Fairview can see ghosts, and when Cal breaks into the funeral home, Ryan's surprised to find the intruder is haunted by all the souls he's taken on the job. Ryan thinks he can help rid Cal of his demons, but he can't quite get past the recent attempt on his own life. Meanwhile, Cal quickly realizes he's got the wrong guy — but his identity has been compromised, so he decides it's best to keep Ryan close.

The Mercenary and the Mortician is the first book in Alexandra St. Pierre's Silent Hollow series, a dark paranormal MM romance with a morally grey hitman protagonist.
