The Legend of Bass Reeves

Born into slavery, Bass Reeves overcame his circumstances to become one of the most effective US Marshals in the Wild West. Unlike many of his contemporaries, Reeves was a true hero, known for never drawing his gun first and bringing hundreds of fugitives to justice. This book tells the story of a black man who, despite the injustices he faced, served the law with courage and honor, becoming a true legend of the frontier.
