Synopsis

Julian Albans was the boy who bullied Auggie Pullman at Beecher Prep. This companion story turns to his side: why he reacted to Auggie the way he did, what happened after he was expelled from school over it, and the long talk with his grandmother about her own childhood in Nazi-occupied France that reshapes how he sees the world.

Originally published as an e-book and later collected in Auggie & Me, The Julian Chapter does not excuse Julian's cruelty — it gives it a cause, and follows him toward genuine remorse.
