Synopsis

The Fyren Order trains assassins. The Haelan Order trains healers. The two Orders have been enemies for generations, and Osric Mordaunt and Aurienne Fairhrim have no intention of being the exception — until Osric falls seriously, mysteriously ill, and the only healer skilled enough to save him is a woman who has every reason to let him die.

Desperate for the funding his coin can buy toward the plague she's fighting, Aurienne agrees to treat him in secret. What starts as a transactional arrangement becomes an uneasy partnership as the two investigate whether Osric's illness and the resurging outbreak are connected — and an even more uneasy attraction neither of them will admit to.

Told with dry wit and an achingly slow-burn enemies-to-lovers arc, The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy is Book One of Brigitte Knightley's Dearly Beloathed duology, followed by The Exquisite Torment of Loving Your Enemy.
