Synopsis

Cassie Sullivan and the handful of survivors from the fifth wave regroup at an abandoned hotel while they wait for Evan Walker to return. The story widens beyond Cassie's point of view to include Ringer, a sharpshooter held at the same camp, whose perspective fills in what happened to the recruits left behind after Camp Haven's destruction.

With no adults, no rules, and every stranger a possible threat, the group has to work out who among them is still human — and what the Others are actually trying to accomplish with the fifth wave. Told across alternating points of view, the book follows Cassie, Ringer, and Ben "Zombie" Parish as they piece together a larger plan while trying to stay alive and hold on to what's left of their humanity.

The second book in The 5th Wave trilogy, following The 5th Wave and preceding The Last Star.
