Synopsis

In his first life, Mo Ran clawed his way to become the tyrannical Emperor of the Cultivation World, betraying his master Chu Wanning and burning his own sect to ash before taking his own life. Death is not the end: he wakes decades earlier in his own younger body, once again a disciple of Sisheng Peak, with every memory of the atrocities he committed and the man he wronged intact.

Determined to escape the fate he built for himself, Mo Ran sets out to change his second life — only to find that Chu Wanning, the aloof and coldly beautiful teacher he once despised and destroyed, will not leave his thoughts. As old rivalries, buried secrets, and the truth about their entangled pasts resurface across two lifetimes, Mo Ran's pursuit of vengeance and survival slowly gives way to something he never expected to feel for his former enemy.

A multi-volume xianxia (Chinese cultivation fantasy) epic originally serialized online, "The Husky and His White Cat Shizun" is a danmei romance built around rebirth, redemption, and the slow unraveling of a master-disciple bond across war, betrayal, and second chances. It has since been adapted into manhua, audio drama, and animation in China.
