Synopsis

Eleven-year-old Tabby Aykroyd, destined to become housekeeper for the Brontë sisters, is taken from an orphanage to a house filled with ghosts. There, she and a wild young boy discover they are needed for a pagan ritual. They must navigate the eerie house and its secrets to understand their role in this mysterious ceremony.

Clare B. Dunkle spent her youth in Texas; she was born in Buckalew, raised in Denton, and attended Trinity University in San Antonio. After graduating with a B.A. in Russian with a minor in Latin, she attended Indiana University, earning a M.A. in Library Science.
