The Hollow

The Hollow
Synopsis
After a family tragedy, teenage Carmen McKenna is taken in at Hunter's Hollow, a busy campground in rural North Carolina run by the Hunter family. What is promised as a fresh start becomes something more complicated: a summer world of first love and first heartbreak alongside the Hunters' two sons, Jack and Dean, and beneath it a community with things to hide.
When a body is discovered at the Hollow, the campground's easy surface is torn away and everyone there becomes a suspect. The case goes nowhere. Carmen leaves, and the questions go with her.
Eleven years later she comes home, still looking for the truth about that night, and a guest goes missing under circumstances that echo it exactly. Kiersten Modglin tells the story in a dual timeline, the past summer and the present-day return braided together, so that each answer Carmen finds in one changes what she thought she knew about the other.
