The Hogwarts Library

The Hogwarts Library gathers three companion volumes to the Harry Potter series, all written by J. K. Rowling: Quidditch Through the Ages, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and The Tales of Beedle the Bard.

Each of the three was written in aid of charity. Quidditch Through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them raised money for Comic Relief and Lumos, while The Tales of Beedle the Bard benefited Lumos.

These are companion books, not novels. They extend the wizarding world of the Harry Potter series with material from outside the main story, and they suit readers who already know that world and want more of it.

The listing gives no plot, characters or setting for the individual volumes, so nothing more can be said here about what each contains. Rowling is also the author of the Harry Potter novels, The Casual Vacancy, and crime novels published under the name Robert Galbraith.
