Synopsis

August Crenshaw is a Gilded Age dollar princess with a head for business. Unlike her peers she has no interest in acquiring a British lord, she wants a place at Crenshaw Iron Works, the family firm. Her parents have other plans.

Evan Sterling, Duke of Rothschild, has inherited an estate with empty coffers and must marry money to save it. He sets out after August's younger sister Violet and finds himself captivated by August's fiery independence instead. He offers a courtship on his own terms; she resists giving up her career and her autonomy.

The Heiress Gets a Duke is the first book in Harper St. George's Gilded Age Heiresses series, set among the American heiresses who married into the British aristocracy at the turn of the century.
