Synopsis

After four years in the army, Max Waring returns to England only to find his former fiancée, Felicity, has married his father, making her his stepmother. As Felicity attempts to rekindle their past connection, Max devises a plan to keep her at a distance. He enlists the help of the beautiful but impoverished Abigail Monroe to pose as his new fiancée at a house party on his father's estate.
