Synopsis

Zane Obispo has a new life on a hidden tropical island — his family, his friends, and the fire he inherited from his father, the Maya god Hurakan. The fire he cannot control yet. There is also the rift with his dog Rosie, who has not been quite the same since she came back as a hellhound, and whatever it is he feels about Brooks, which he is not going to look at directly.

Then he learns what the book he wrote about his misadventures with the gods actually did: it revealed that godborn children exist. Now the gods are hunting them, and unless Zane reaches them first they will all be killed. And Hurakan is scheduled for execution.

The second Storm Runner novel, published under Rick Riordan Presents in 2019, bringing in Aztec royalty, new godborns, and alliances Zane would not have chosen.
