I love reading the Earthsea novels, I really do. They’re so inventive and unique, even now, and never fail to pull me into their world. I wish I’d read them when I was younger, but at the same time I don’t think I would have quite understood them.
Either way, Le Guin does not fail to deliver with this book! I was swept away by Sparrowhak and Arren’s journey across the sea to restore magic. I worried for them when they had misfortunes, and I rejoiced when they had triumphs. I love this series, and this book, very much.
Not quite a five-star read due to the slight boredom of some of the sailing parts.
