Synopsis

Heinrich Obermann, a renowned German archaeologist, believes his discovery of Troy will prove the existence of Homeric heroes. His young Greek wife, Sophia, working alongside him, grows suspicious of his vague past and hidden artifacts. When a skeptical archaeologist dies mysteriously, Sophia's doubts intensify, pushing Obermann to make increasingly grand claims about his findings. This story explores human ambition, folly, and the temptation to twist truth to fit a passionate belief.
