This book was so tragically beautiful. A lot of dark, but important, themes were explored including mental health, healing and redemption. There wasn't much sugar-coating of anything, which for some may be a bit much but for me made it feel real and raw.
My only complaint is that were a few too-easy breakthroughs, and everything seemed to be wrapped up neatly in the end. These characters were flawed and messy, and I expected the ending to match that.
Despite this, the story was still well put together and has left me feeling emotions I don't normally feel after reading. This was intense, dark and oddly uplifting.
