Synopsis

In 1918 London, Billy Prior works for military intelligence while struggling with his own fractured identity. As he navigates a world of pacifists and secret desires, his mental state begins to collapse under the weight of his conflicting loyalties. He returns to psychiatrist William Rivers to face the trauma of the trenches and the impossible demands of a society at war.

She is known for her Regeneration Trilogy, published in the 1990s, and for a series of books set during the Trojan War, starting with The Silence of the Girls.
