American writer of young-adult speculative fiction, born May 19, 1981, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She graduated from Radford University with a degree in History and Art. Cass is best known for The Selection series (2012-2016), a bestselling YA dystopian romance quartet plus companion novellas, followed by The Betrothed duology.
