Synopsis
Decades after the Anomaly was first detected, the thing it has been doing to the people who came near it reaches everyone. Death stops. People who died return. Nobody can leave, and nobody can be lost.
James Smythe closes the quartet by asking what a life is for once the shape of it has been removed, and answers it through people rather than through explanation: families reassembling wrong, grief with nowhere to go, a world that is not ending so much as refusing to.
