Synopsis

In the winter of 1983, an unprecedented El Ni

o event unleashed a series of superstorms across the West, leading to a massive snowmelt that threatened the Glen Canyon Dam. As federal officials struggled to prevent a catastrophic dam failure, three river guides secretly launched a hand-built wooden boat, the Emerald Mile, into the raging Colorado River. Their audacious plan was to navigate the treacherous, flood-swollen waters of the Grand Canyon, aiming for the fastest boat ride ever through its formidable rapids.
