Anthony Gottlieb is a British writer and historian of ideas, best known for his two-volume history of Western philosophy, The Dream of Reason and The Dream of Enlightenment. He was a member of the editorial staff of The Economist from 1984 to 2006, serving latterly as its Executive Editor and founding editor of Economist.com.
