The Dream Guy Next Door

Liam Harris is a thirty-nine-year-old British veterinarian and single father who has just moved to the small California town of Duck Falls to take over a practice. He is charming, hopelessly earnest, and ready to find someone to build a life with. The only problem is that he has no idea how dating works in a town this size.

His neighbour January is a thirty-seven-year-old carpenter raising a teenage daughter, and she is emphatically not looking for romance. So she volunteers to be his dating insider, vetting his prospects and steering him toward the town's available women. One date, then two, then three, and the arrangement starts to feel a good deal less friendly than she promised herself it would.

The fifth book in Lauren Blakely's Guys Who Got Away series is a low-angst neighbours-to-lovers romance between two single parents, full of banter and a slow slide from helpful to hopeless.
