January 2026:
I finally finished my second Journey to the Tower.
This second journey hurt so much more. I dreaded this final book pretty much from the beginning, not because of the ending (I still love it), but because of all the losses.
I lived and breathed with this ka-tet for a very long time this time around. I loved them all dearly and it hurt to lose them one by one.
Because of all the related books I've read since my first journey, even the secondary characters and their journeys in this final installment meant more to me.
Anyways, Ka is a wheel, and it always goes back to where it started. Here's to hoping I can take another journey at another time.
October 2020:
I'm speechless. This is possibly the saddest and the most heartbreaking volume in the series, and one of my favorites.
Roland first loses his whole Ka-tet and finally reaches his tower.
The ending was in my opinion, the best possible ending for such an epic series. I loved every bit of the ending and it made perfect sense.
