Synopsis

In the wake of World War II, America's cultural confidence lagged behind its military might, leading to the embrace of European intellectual currents. This book examines how the Frankfurt School's 'critical theory' took root in the United States, challenging established American values. Michael Walsh argues that this philosophy fostered a pervasive nihilism, impacting everything from patriotism to family structures. Discover how this overlooked movement reshaped American society.
