I'm not sure this series deserves my enthusiasm anymore. I gave the previous book the benefit of the doubt, thinking this one would increase the tempo, especially after the explosive revelation at the end of the last one. Unfortunately, it didn't improve at all, it was mostly dull with barely any action, revelations that didn't much improve the plot, and decisions that were so strategically wrong I was genuinely worried about losing my eyes at the back of my skull.
There were also entirely too many unnecessary sex scenes that made Puppy and Casteel's blind, cheesy love even more boring.
